Description

We are excited to share this video from the first edition of the Rhododendron Week, which took place in Sheytemi, Merak, Trashigang from 3-9 April 2025.

The video captures moments from the first-ever Rhododendron Week held in Sheytemi, under Merak Gewog in Trashigang. As part of Rhododendron Week 2025, held from 3rd to 9th April, the festival brought together the communities of Merak and Sakteng to celebrate the natural beauty of the region and their rich cultural heritage.

Rhododendron Week was introduced to highlight the seasonal bloom of rhododendrons while creating opportunities for community-led tourism in Eastern Bhutan. The event featured cultural performances, local food, and nature-based activities that allowed visitors to engage with the environment and local way of life.

Implemented in collaboration with the Trashigang Dzongkhag and support through ESP program, this initiative reflects our continued efforts to promote meaningful experiences.
